KVCCLOGO missionFounded in 1932, the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce is a key part of the business community and a driving force in the economic development of the Kennebec Valley region. Our mission is to enhance life quality by strengthening our regional economy.

With over 600 members of varying sizes and industries throughout 23 communities, the Kennebec Valley Chamber provides countless services to the community and our members. Some of the key functions of our chamber are legislative support, community events, educational seminars, economic development, and business networking opportunities.

The Kennebec Valley Chamber’s region includes Augusta, Belgrade, Chelsea, Dresden, Farmingdale, Fayette, Gardiner, Hallowell, Jefferson, Litchfield, Manchester, Monmouth, Mount Vernon, Pittston, Randolph, Readfield, Richmond, Somerville, Wayne, West Gardiner, Whitefield, Windsor, and Winthrop.

Katie has been with the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce since 2015 as Program Director. Katie came to the Chamber with a strong resume of business operations, management & marketing experience, and a degree from Thomas College. Katie has shown exponential knowledge and charisma that the prospering Kennebec Valley needs. In addition, Katie is passionate about her community involvement and encourages more business leaders in the area.

Promoted to President & CEO in February 2017, Katie is directly responsible for the full range of Chamber activities and work programs, organizational structure, and procedures.  She is also responsible for the growth and maintenance of membership and facilities management. In addition, she works closely with the Board of Directors on long-range planning and goal setting.

She sits on multiple boards and committees throughout the Kennebec Valley and State. She also is a proud board member for the New England Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Maine State Chamber of Commerce Executives. She was also a honoree for the 2022 Mainebiz Next UP 40 under 40, Maine State Chamber Executive of the year in 2022. She is also a graduate of the Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. 

Katie resides in South Gardiner with her husband Chris, her two children Scarlett and Grayson, and their dog Layla. They enjoy spending time with family and friends and, in the summer months, you can find them on the golf course.

Lindsay Corbett

Lindsay joined the KV Chamber in February 2018 as the Office Manager. She is a Thomas College graduate who previously spent six years working as a Finance Manager for Kaplan University before making her switch to the Chamber. Since the switch, she has been an invaluable team member with her can-do attitude and attention to detail.

Lindsay is a proud Board Member of the Greater Augusta Area Back to School Program and was recently appointed to the Chief Operating Officer's role in 2021. She is responsible for the development, execution, and enablement of success for the Chamber. 

Not only is she a COO, but she is also a full-time mom and partner to her wonderful wife and two children. They enjoy spending their time going on camping trips around Maine.

Melissa Walden

Membership & Development Director

She is a University of Maine graduate who previously spent six years working as a Development Manager for the American Lung Association managing large-scale events including the Trek Across Maine. 

Melissa is responsible for the recruitment and retention of Chamber members. Her role also includes educating members about the benefits of membership including sponsorship and advertising opportunities. Melissa enjoys many outdoor activities. When she’s not in the office you can find her mountain biking, hiking or camping. Melissa is the owner of Melissa Walden Photography, a local business that offers branding and portrait photography.

Shelly LaVerdiere 

Events & Program Manager

Shelly joined the chamber in September of 2023 as the Event and Program Manager. Shelly studied early childhood education and previously spent her years teaching Pre-k through 8th grade. In that time, she also studied business management at Kaplan University. She spent much of her life planning events for the fun of it, from holiday parties as a child to weddings, community events, and fundraisers as an adult. She is a self-taught event planner and relies on her natural creativity and organizational skills to bring an event to life.

Shelly is responsible for the planning and management of all chamber events and programs. She is excited to add her expertise to our events. Please reach out to Shelly if you have any questions regarding any of the events that the chamber hosts.

Shelly resides in Augusta with her son, Kainen. Together they like to attend Kainen’s baseball games and swim meets. When not at sporting events, Shelly likes to travel. Her favorite places to travel to are Washington DC, Boston, and New York City, but she loves to explore anywhere new!

Lauren Turcotte Seavey

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Lauren joined the Chamber in April of 2024 as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator. She is a recent graduate of the University of Maine, where she studied Sociology with a double minor in Marketing & Graphic Design. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Project Management at the Roux Institute at Northeastern University. She is a 2019 Senator George Mitchell Scholar, and the 2022 Barbara Atkins Pioneer Scholar of the Year for her dedication to the field of communications. 

Lauren is responsible for the marketing and communications at the Chamber. This includes managing the Chamber social media pages, email distribution, print media, and working closely with Chamber members to ensure they are getting the most out of their marketing benefits as part of their membership. 

In her free time Lauren really enjoys spending time with her partner Kenyan outdoors and going to concerts. She is an avid hiker, kayaker, and canoer. When she is not working on schoolwork or spending time outside, Lauren is in the studio painting or working on a ceramics project. She has 3 cats, Boo, Germ and Rory, that keep her busy and walk through her wet paint!
