On Saturday, September 23, 2017, the Maine State Museum in Augusta will participate in Smithsonian Magazine’s 13th annual Museum Day Live! The Maine State Museum will offer free admission to those who present a Museum Day Live! ticket.
The thirteenth annual Museum Day is a celebration of the culture, learning and entertainment found in the nation’s museums. Visitors to the Maine State Museum frequently compare the quality of our exhibits to those of the Smithsonian, and the free admission Museum Day ticket presents an opportunity for folks to come see for themselves.

The Maine State Museum is open Tuesday through Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 10am-4pm, closed Sunday and Monday. Admission is $3 for adults; $2 for senior adults over age 62 and children 6-18 years of age; children under 6 free. Maximum charge for families is $10.
