Spend your school vacation at the Maine State Museum! 

Explore the natural world around us with our hands-on gallery programs at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 18th through Friday, February 21, 2020. Learn what creatures like to live under logs (hint: reptiles and amphibians) examine beautiful rock and mineral specimens, take a closer look at sea creatures found in tide pools, and learn more about Maine mammals.  Our natural science touch cart will be set-up from 11:00-12:00 and 2:00-3:00 daily for in-depth exploration.  All activities are free with the price of museum admission!

  • Life Under a Log - Tuesday, February 18 at 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM
  • Formation of Rocks and Minerals - Wednesday, February 19 at 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM
  • Life in a Tide Pool - Thursday, February 20 at 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM
  • Mammals Small and Large - Friday, February 21 at 10:00 AM & 1:00 PM
  • Natural Science Touch Cart – daily 11:00-12:00 & 2:00-3:00

The Maine State Museum is open Tuesday through Friday 9 am-5 pm, Saturday 10 am-4 pm. The museum is closed on Sunday, Monday, and all State holidays.  Admission is $3 for adults; $2 for senior adults over age 62 and children 6-18 years of age; children under 6 free.  The maximum charge for families is $10.  For more information, please call 207-287-2301, or visit the Maine State Museum website: www.mainestatemuseum.org
